The boys got me an orchid (hope I manage to keep it going) and a Pilates DVD but later we are off to a place to look at pond plants (my choice) and a coffee before mother in law comes over, a lovely day a head oh they bought me tea and toast upstairs.
Stagbeetle, orchids are quite easy plants as long as you don't get water in the'middle' of the leaves and don't let them sit in water. There's a couple of threads on here about the care of orchids, I'll try and find them later
Re Orchids. We've just come back from staying with friends for a couple of days. We had a white Phlaenopsis delivered to our friend's Hotel room on the night before her wedding in June 2012 and yesterday I counted 34 flowers and 2 new flower spikes on it. It has never been without flowers since the day we bought it.
Happy Mothers Day to all of you Mums - I have managed to combine my "significant" birthday with Mother's Day today so I'm being taken out for a champagne tea this afternoon. My house is full of flowers and cards and I feel really treasured.
My daughter and grandsons came today, her hubby is painting her kitchen, she bought me a bunch of roses and a t shirt, the boys bought chocolates and cho chip cookies. The t shirt, from the Eden project was a bit tight, shd got size 8 but since mums troubles, I have put on half a stone so she is changing it for a 10.
They bought cards and flowers for mum, she was thrilled.
Son anc DIL came yesterday and bought me some herb plants.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Belated Happy Mothers days from me too, I hot lovely Lush goodies and most importatly a cup of tea in bed and time with my boys and in the garden. Most weekday we are like passing ships as they are teenagers so to have them both spend the day at home with me was lovely.
Love to all those with mums that are now stars and those that are poorly....thinking of you all x
