Don't look quite right for hedgehog to me ...

Those pics look very much like the visiting card that was on my lawn, hence my post. It too had the "bubbles" among it, but chose not to dissect it to discover what they were. Love to get a definitive answer on this poo.

I suppose it could be hedgehogs - it just depends what they've been eating - ours leave 'tidier packages' image

  • Can anyone help? Just found a dropping for first time in garden. An inch long, smooth with some odour. I'm desperately hoping it's hedgehog as garden is wildlfe friendly but was on patio down some steps from decking. I have a small hole on my back gate which leads to rough ground and hedge. Having had a quick look online hedgehog poo seems to be rough textured image....please say it's not just a giant rat!!!??

I like that you made it more attractive with a petal. image image

  • Haha! It was so it showed up on the dark background! ?

Looks like it to me image are there reflective scales within the poop? Looks like I can sort of see one on the image.

  • I can't really see anything specific in/on it. When I picked it up from a damp corner it was very smooth and almost shiny. The other thing that's a bit strange is if it came from back gate it would have to cross the decking and go down two steps and another deck and then three steps to patio as garden is sloping....rather an active hedgehog! But surely if its rat its a. Too big and b. There's only one dropping

Sorry to say, I think it's more likely rat poo. Full grown rats are quite large enough to do a £1 length poo. And your description of the journey points, as you suggest, to a more agile animal.
