    The flowering quinces are lovely.Always wanted one - I have my eye on a white one - and they do well up here.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Ah thank you. Oh just remembered I have a picture when it had leaves on just before winter....can't believe I managed to find it, this is the one with the winged bark.

    No 8 is this some kind of laurel, the berries have stayed red since late last summer, when I moved in.

    10. Centaurea montana. blue perennial cornflower.

    11 variegated pieris.

    Looks a bit like a Skimmia. Is it a rounded, mound- like shape?
