Couldn't have IDd the 9th but agree - Centaurea (Knapweed/Cornflower) and Pieris for the last couple. You have a very full plot there Jack!
The Pieris doesn't look too happy either. Looks like it's been a bit overshadowed by other things so it could possibly do with a move elsewhere or some clearing of the stuff around it. They like a bit of shade though.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thank you Dove, yes! hopefully a very happy plant indeed. Now I need to look up Fish blood and bone, ha!
Thanks fairygril I'm more than impressed by everyone's knowledge, I don't know how the heck I'm going to memorise all these names. Yes a full plot, they are just the pictures I took today, still lots of other stuff!!!
Looks like someone planted some choice plants in that garden of yours Jack
And when that Love in a Mist flowers, leave the seedheads on - they puff up like some strange sort of puffer fish and look so odd, and the goldfinches will come and balance on them and eat the seeds - you'll wonder how those frail plants can support the weight of the birds - my daughter lives right in the centre of a busy town, and she has flocks of goldfinches on her Love in a Mist.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Lots of good people who'll help on here Jack, and it's probably the best way to get answers to your queries quickly as you'll always find someone who can ID even quite obscure items. I've found it invaluable - and not just for plant knowledge! You can then look up your plants online or in books and decide what you want to keep/move etc. and make plans for all the other things you'll want to buy...if you're anything like the rest of us!

Oh wow, that's brilliant! I just bought some teasel seeds because I wanted to attract goldfinches. Yes the lady before had put a wide range of plants in the garden, she unfortunately became ill and couldn't look after it anymore. This is what it looked like when I moved in....
Quite overgrown but lot's to work with. I love it so much and even though I've done a lot of tidying, I want it to still be quite wild.
