The chairs have been bought - they're second hand old school chairs - the stacking wooden ones that everyone had. The counter may be made by someone else - not sure yet. Certainly, others are going to do (actually may be doing as I write) the finishing jobs - fill the nail & knot holes in the tops (otherwise spilt coffee will end up on customers' legs) and varnishing. The boss (well, the Curate - who wouldn't like to think of himself in that role...) said varnish, so varnish it is. It needs to be smooth and wipe-clean.
The café is in Crosby (Liverpool) town centre, 150 yards from the church.
(I might point out at this juncture that I'm a devout atheist and am only associated with the church through good friends - and they're all nice people!)
(I missed out the second 'o' in 'good' then. I wonder if that's significant?!)
Steve309 not using too many brackets, the pallet tables will look sophisticated with varnish and bring out the nice wood grain, all wooden things will look smart together -
maybe just some colour on the cafe walls?
I have gone with fun multi coloured for Woolston community garden will try and finsh tomorrow then take photos, harder to paint all different colours next to each other as get splashes on and then re touch up colours
Went on a pallet trip today to Portsmouth managed to get some good long planks and boards, need for garden raised beds and also bits for allotment tool shed - filled the car up nicely for us on way home, one pallet we got which took apart the wood is really thick and good for fence posts, some pallet wood planks rounded edges and lines on very pretty
I like cuprinol garden shades so will paint raised bed wood - brightens up the garden
GWRS tried masking tape on a small bit and still got paint on bits as trying sides of slats need to be re painted, masking tape is normally good just not for where I tried doing painting
was trying to do all the colours at once, been rainging over night benches bit wet not sure unless it drys today may not get to paint them to finish
Hollie hock thanks will take pictures, the false sunflower plant done really well this year spread a bit and looked pretty

A great job Steve. . . . lots of ££s saved
Steve they look fantastic so professional and will look great in the cafe, you done good with them hope the team are proud of your pallet tables
is someone else making bits as well for the cafe?
They look fabulous Steve, wheres the cafe? What about colours on them rather than varnish? Like this "shabby chic" garden shades stuff.
Thank you. ladies

Gardengirl , just an idea for stripes by using masking tape
