So do I but then I'm not young and starting out and needing cheap fixes while I save for proper furniture.

We did have a bookcase once, made from orange boxes.

The beds are like a futon but I can no longer get up nor down to one!!

Me neither.  When we spent a week here in summer to start painting bedrooms ahead of the move we had a mattress on the floor and i had to roll over onto my knees and prise myself vertical.  I have used old wine crates for storage in the past.  No doubt very chic now.
