A little butterfly floated past me today when I was outside. Didn't get a chance to see what it was though - he fluttered by too quickly
Felt really springlike today. Only 2 degrees when I left for work/school this morning and didn't get above 10 or 11 but it was still and sunny. Lovely to be out getting dirty fingernails again
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Saw a butterfly today, the first one I've spotted this year. So many more bees about this week and ladybirds too, all busy helping me out in the garden in this gorgeous weather!
uncovered a toad we have no water nearby so don't know why he is here or how he got here (could he have been dropped by a bird) - anyway a welcome addition to munch on my slugs long may he stay
I have had to remove 3 large bumble bees from conservatory, using the jam jar and cardboard technique. I do love them; they just don't seem feasible as flying machines
We have a toad too and a frog, no water in the garden and pretty much walled in so how and why, I don't know, but I don't have a slug or snail problem in the back garden where they live, like I do in the front. Hav'nt seen them yet this year. Still chilly on a night time though.
Heard a Chiff Chaff yesterday in Gloucestershire and male blackbird carrying small worms, so I guess nestling are about. Here's to a lovely hot weekend.

Seen yesterday in neighbour's garden. N okay with me posting pic of his garden
The first of last year's rescue slow worms
sunning itself outside the summerhouse
In the sticks near Peterborough
Nut, I haven't seen a slow worm since I was about 12, how wonderful to have rescued them, how and why; we need to know
