    Thanks for the explanation Artjak.

Wished I lived in York, Maureen. Bath charge £32 odd per green waste bin per year and then charge again for the compost they produce!

I've got 2 green waste bins so that's £75 odd per year, (we have a large garden with hedges all round), although I do have 2 plastic compost bins, 1 wooden one, a leaf bin and a shredder,  I'm very wary of putting any weeds in my own compost bins.

Lizzie I agree that I am very lucky. I do not put weeds in my own compost bin either that is why the council's hot composting is so great. The downside is that you are never sure if someone has put something harmful in their green bin.

I have just potted up about 80 plants  This  seems a stupid question but if I don't know the whole plant name can I just put eg hardy geranium of will they want to know which type.

I think they'll consider themselves lucky just to have 'plant'!

Any description at all, Maureen - whatever is easiest.

Hi Rosie31, Yes, hasn't it been glorious!  Went to the Badminton Plant Fair yesterday and spent far too much money - like a child in a sweet shop.

I've been wondering what the current state of play is - could you give us a rundown when you've time, on what is happening - especially on the Levels - have all the plants so far collected been distributed?  Are you expecting more to arrive?

Look forward to hearing from you and the others.

I'm back from London, hopefully taking loads of plants down this weekendimage. But have to contact the plant creche people tomorrow to make sure.
