Thanks Lily - he is a bit of a star - but he loves making things as much as i love gardening, so it is a happy match. He would be delighted if he never had to sit in an office again, and spend his life as a craftsman instead ..... But at the moment it remains a hobby. His latest project is laying a new bit of drystone wall .... Pictures coming soon (he and my Dad did the one you can see in the flower garden).
Fairy - i will tell him he has a commission from a Duchess! So far his customers have been Buckeye Belle and Sarah Bernhardt - far more downmarket

I had a look at her yesterday - she's grown loads already - and she has a lovely bud on the main stem and two teeny weeny ones on side shoots.
I'm easily pleased...
