    Living up to its name of butterfly bush image.  Love the dark coloured flowers - is that Black Knight??

  • Yes chicky it is Black Knight. I know a lot of people won't have them in their garden but if they attract butterflies then they're ok by me.

     The Oak has been there a long time. The geraniums went in last Spring. The bulbs went in in September, the hellebores went in last week. The retaining wall still needs rebuilding since the previous owners Great Danes knocked it down.

    Well it would have looked better if the people the other side of the hedge hadn't ripped out the ancient hawthorn and replaced it with conifer which is all brown on my side. Because its in shade all summer, I think that only Ivy will disguise it.
