this is warsaw nike the one you asked about i bought as midnight wanderer
i bought two clematis at two different nurseries-one warsaw nike one midnight wanderer-apparently they are the same clematis and yet-they are planted on either side of a vitis purpurea, nike blooms a couple of weeks earlier than midnight and the color of midnight is detectably darker with a less definite midrib
chilly and wet today so laying in bed reading a year in beth chattos garden-nice. did you know dicentra is now lamprocapnos spectabilis? good lord. taxonomists are a rum lot.
What a beautiful morning. The first two are "Royal Wedding" and the others are there because I love how everything looks so verdant and lush first thing in the morning.

Ok sorry the last two are the Poppy, it seems it's loaded them in reverse order from my uploads.
Agree with you about early morning DaisyHC. Love that fresh feeling!
I dont know whats going on here, but the left hand foxglove has the flowers pointing upwards instead of hanging down.
A bit of early morning sunshine on the hesperis, angelica and alliums.
