OL - yes solar lights - bargain from Wilkinsons - would recommend - just have been given a solar Saturn from B&Q and popped it in with the Japonica Fatsia - deep joy when goes dark!  Chicky - thank you - inherited Pieris when brought house 12 years ago - so many fat bees already love it too which is a good sign image

Hi Guys Had 10 mins of sun this lunchtime so grabbed camera and  took some pictures of the garden as it is now.

    image

This is the view from my back door. You can see thar I have 2 greenhouses now.

This is the view from the back gate.

The herbaceous border small I know  but I love them.

    image

Turnip seedlings in raised bed no 1.

    image

Radish sparkler in raised bed no 2.

    image

    Rocket raised bed no 2.

    image

Spring Onion White Lisbon just emerging raised bed no 2.

    image

     Spinach raised bed no 2.

    image

All Year Round Lettuce raised bed no 2. At the moment the beds are covered as you can see but I also put a fleece over the seedlings at night, just in case of frost. The fleece and plastic will come off later and make way for netting.

    image

Courgettes, at the mont they are going into the greenhouse in the day time and bringing them in at night.

    image

Tomato Shirley F1. The same as the courgettes out in the daytime in at night.

    image

Cucumber, Marketmore, Sweet Basil and Antirrhinum, these are standing in a heated propagator. I have removed the lid now but do put fleece over at night. On hot sunny days I also  pull the plug but have to remember to put it back at night.

    image

The Sweet Peas I put in 3 weeks ago. These are in a trough and will be growing up the 2 grey obelisks that you can see on other pics.

    image

My freebee water feature, my daughter inherited it with her new house and didn't want it. The flamingo came from a friend who lives in Gloucestershire and is a volunteer at slimbridge Wildfowl Trust.

    image

The border on the other side of the garden does not get as much sun and is damper than the herbaceous border so in here I have Rhubarb, Timperley Early, Astibie's and my pear tree.

    image

Final one an overall view including my dotty dog Molly waiting for me to throw her bone. Don't mind the gaps in the lawn this is molly territory as the stepping stones with pots on show, these are covering up holes that Molly has had great enjoyment in digging when my back has been turned. Naughty Molly.image

Looks great Ecobaby, I love the way bald patches on your lawn are just another opportunity for more plants!

  • Just found this in flower when I got home. It started to try to flower in Dec/Jan and I nipped a few flower heads off, and just noticed it is now covered in flower buds, with one fully open.. Never had a lavender in flower this early. image

Love your pics Ecobaby - great to see gardens packed with plants in every corner image.

My lavenders are nowhere near flowers yet Meerkat - is yours near a house wall?

Forgot  to say Sweetpea, love your style, I bet your garden cheers up everyone who walks byimage do you buy your colourful pots or paint them yourself?

Hello Ashleigh, My little bit of garden is entirely hidden by the car, except to my neighbours either side of us, which I am glad of, because there are two pubs on my road, and I can't say with confidence I'd have all my pots left should everyone be able to see them! Also they are shop bought, the plasticky ones are from a standard 99p type shop, 4 tiddlers for 99p, three mediums 99p and two 'larges' for 99p. The metal heart ones are from B&M which I think is fab for garden decorations like pots, lights, planters and things, great for kiddies getting involved with gardens too. Their plants aren't so great, but my Violas have served a purpose for a few weeks, and hopefully the rescued rosemary will thrive! I've kept in in relative shade for now, I hope that's right.

Loving everyone's photos, Ecobaby, I know you say you have a small garden, but that's a size I dream of! It's so lovely!
