Another long border Lyn that is not in these pics? You have worked hard and it looks amazing, no wonder you love it Think maybe we should come to you! Do you open your garden under the NGS scheme?
I dont open the garden because I dont really like to be tied to time, its only me working on it and sometimes it gets a bit behind!
I think it would un nerve my parents, dads turned 90 mums 86, bless em. Anyone would be most welcome to come here if you are in the Dartmoor area, just let me know.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Thank you SGL, I do work hard, but love it, I am just thinking now of extending another bed. There is far to much grass here. I would rather plant and weed than spend a day doing the grass.

I would love to see how you go about that Lyn, extending the border so hope you keep us posted and with pics I have no idea how far dartmoor is from me and sounds so far away but maybe one day when I retire I can come visit, thank you xx
Beautiful borders both Lizzie and Lyn - and still so much colour. I know you both work hard - but what beautiful results. I just love gazing at other peoples gardens - and even better when they are "Real" ones tended by real people. Get a bit fed up of the ones in magazines that are all done by the "head gardener and his team" - where's the inspiration in that.
So thank you all Garden Gallery Peeps - for keeping it real and providing me with true inspiration
Here's are one from a very small section of our neighbours' garden, opened today with the NGS. My 7 yr old was very excited and slightly overwhelmed by the beauty of the garden (as was I) he had to have a sit down, to try and take some of it in.
I really want to recreate this section.
I know that the violet blue is Perovskia (Russian Sage) and my 7 yr old has just bought the lovely grass. Anyone know what the yellow headed plant and the very tall purple one at the back is called?
Brilliant Victoria, thanks for the ID. Gosh I'm in love, the colour of that Verbena Bonariensis is to die for, and it was just full of butterflies! I think I can also spy a yellow crocosmia x in the corner.

Hi Caral,
That is a lovely garden
The plants are Verbena Bonariensis and Achillea, either Moonshine or a tumbled down Cloth of Gold.
