BTW Victoriasponge...I divided my scabiosa very easily in the spring. Even the tiny bits took well in my soil, if a little slow to bulk I now have 7 full sized plants from one over three years.
I didn't know that you could divide scabiosa wintersong so good to know thank you I really just got into them this year and have most of them in pots but will get into the garden very soon. Could you advise best position for them as yours sound like they are doing really well
Sorry Vic, I have just seen your post answering my question, that is a very unusual foxglove, hope you can get some seeds, and the pink scabious is gorgeous.
i have a pale blue one, seeds taken from daughters plants, I would sow them now and keep in over winter, planting out next Spring.
mine did come true for colour.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Beaus, scabious can be planted in full sun /part shade, anywhere, need good drainage, Going to divide mine next month, and pot one up for a gap filler.
Had one in a pot last year, divided it, potted up two, brought indoors, 'bubble wrapped' over winter, new shoots appeared, kept indoors until april, planted out in late may.
I'll do the same this year and hope for a mild winter. Worth a try

That's brill thank you Bizzie b and thank you for bumping star gaze

Bizzie, can they be grown in pots or do they need to be in the ground. I had some a few years ago but lost them over winter. Might try them again.
