Thanks for the tip GWRS. I'm well over 55 but you have to be UK resident to get most discount cards and our paint raid will be on a Monday as we have dancing every other day of the week........
I already have some pollarded willows along the stream and we did have a row of 25 poplars that have had to be cut down as they were getting a bit too tall and unstable and two had already toppled in high winds. I'm planting more willows to replace them but there is just too much water sloshing around to get to some of the bank where I want to put a couple of weepers.

I would like the thread to carry on as I am going to do gardening by the moon again this year it really helped with when to plan to sow my seeds
I am using this thread and the internet calendar, to mark out using coloured ballpoint pens on my gardening diary to the different days - e.g red for fruit, purple for flowers - then I can figure what day I will sow anything
Going to sow celery and celeriac seeds tomorrow in quarter trays indoor
l started gardening by the moon a couple of years back and unfortunately had to give up due to health problems and moving house. However l'm keen on starting again so any help and support will be greatfully received.
Thrilled you would like to continue, and I'm happy to do it as love bouncing ideas off you, especially as we are more chatty now. Just hope we can encourage more biodynamic gardeners to contribute as would love more knowledge. I am just going to join the UK Biodynamic Agricultural Association www.biodynamic.org.uk - Feel I may pick up more tips, and can get to grips with this planetary and constellation business a bit better!
Just checked on greenhouse and cucumber frame after high winds last night. All well, just can't get near the Potager - so so wet. with a wet March and April predicted in the Bio Calenders, I think most of my planting will have to be under cover. Picked up a mag this morning all about using the Moon's influences to improve flower and shrub production, including a piece on growing cut flowers (that doesn't sound right!) giving attention to creating depth of colour at key Lunar periods. - Apart from companion planting, and growing flowers for crystallising, I tend to be keener on the Potager side, and this is not fair on flower growers - So this year, I'll make sure that there is a section for these gardeners - perhaps this will attract more contributions too.
I grow both edibles and flowers, tho I don't harvest the flowers for cutting. I find they provide equal pleasure and satisfaction and the flowery bits are becoming a great haven for wildlife which helps with pollination and controlling pests in all the garden.

Hello on the allottment I grow flowers , veg , soft fruit and fruit trees , infact last week planted 2 pear trees . I have lavender which the bees love
Have thought about a cut flower bed but happy to leave them
At home , mainly shrubs , flowers , do grow lettuce and try raddish but they never grew very well . Have blackberry bushes as hedging , also greenhouse for toms , cucumbers and chillies
Biofreak very pleased you have decided to carry this on , must have a look at the web site you mentioned
Maize (sweetcorn) is a difficult one because it comes under leaves initially then fruit so watch both lunar dates. Sow on a rising Moon from April and remember to grow Beans up it as it makes an excellent companion plant, plus buys you space for other crops (ie beans) because it takes so long to ripen. Also remember to keep damp.
Hope I can keep this thread interesting enough GWRS for you to stick with it!! Thank you everyone for your encouraging words.

Hello , sweetcorn , have grown it successfully for last 2 years but they have been eaten by "Rats" so have decided not to grow it this year
