I hope you are pleased with your new flower plants, flumpy 1. I was pleased to see a dry patio this morning - the first time for ages it seems. It should be a full day's gardening again today - more path clearing, It will definitely be broad beans with my supper tonight too.I have brought on four acers from self sown seedlings I brought home from the Bot, Garden and have planted one in my new border. The second will go in today. One at a time as they are quite big now and it takes some doing to get them out of their pots and a big hole dug for them.
beautiful marion, i wish you lived closer too, would love to visit and pick your brain! think i may pester you endlessly though so be thankful i'm a long way off!
Another few yards of path cleared. I should be a quarter of the way round by the end of the day. I am going on an outing next Wednesday to Longstock Water Garden and the NT Mottisfont Abbey with the Friends of Bristol Univ. Bot, garden and at this rate I will certainly be glad of the break!
Marion if you give any talks at Bristol university, would it be possible to let me know? The OH teaches there, law, not botanics, but we don't live far, and I'd love to hear you talk in person. Hope that doesn't come off too odd!
Hi Marion, just finished putting all my new plants in, I've ordered more than I thought , so I will have to make room for five more Gazanias, can't wait for them to flower and send you photo's, my strawberry plants are a lot larger this year, must be something in the rain ha, just checked in my green house and my curly Kale seeds are germinating , my last lot got over heated (learnt my lesson), putting my feet up for five minutes then it's time to make tea mmmm what Shall I have , hope your well Marion glad it's stayed fine for you too
I had broad beans from the garden again with my supper tonight, and the strawberry crop is huge. There should be no shortage at Wimbledon this year. I have worked really hard on the long path today. The green wheelie bin is full again so now I am just filling up my five big weed containers and lining them up till I can fill it up again after it is emptied. The pink lilac in the woodland walk is in bloom now - it flowers so long after the blue and white one are over and smells very strongly. I will get some pics tomorrow. Forecast is for unsettled weather after tomorrow.
My strawberries are green at the moment but looking forward to eating them when they are ready mmm, looking forward to your photo's Marion, your garden sounds lovely, in the north it's blue sky but the wind is cool, at least it's dry for us gardeners , can't believe its so light at 9.30pm I love Spring and summer
Me too Flumpy, especially when I see a forecast like we have for Bristol today. Sunshine till 4pm and temperature of 18 degrees. Great weather for gardening outside which is where I will be as soon as I have seen to the chores. Should not be so wet even in the woodland walk today as we do not seem to have had any rain through the night for a change.
