I need not have worried about my golden theme. The kerria ad yellow arcgangel and primulas are taking care of it. The pear blossom is full out and my tulip tree is showing its lovely leaves and trunk off in the sunshine. White "bluebells" in abundance and lots of pink and white double daisies as well as late daffs and tulips had me snapping.
Flumpy 1. The first picture is Spanish bluebells. They increase like mad, just the thing for a huge garden like mine and you get the occasional white or pink one. I like to amuse myself transplanting them into groups according to their colour so now have a quite sizeable clump of white ones.which is picture no 3. They hibridise with the English bluebell so, in my garden I have three types of bluebell, Spanish, English and the in-betweens in three colours.
That sounds really nice Marion, that means all mine are spanish because thay are all purple, i've just gave my lawn is first cut, its looks much better now, and dug all my beds over, just having a rest and re-energise ha and going back out, my curly Kale seeds are doing well, they are an inch high now
It has been a glorious day of gardening and I treated myself to mint and chocolate ice cream in the garden. Felt like summer. I should have a freshly arranged display ready for Easter at this rate and will have to look out my straw gardening hat. UV was up to 4 today and top is 7.
Mint and chocolate is my favourite, when i go to costa adeje with my hubby, we love to have mint and chocolate ice-cream nearly every day mmmmm , its been grey in lancashire most of the day, you was lucky, glad you have had a nice day Marion, just got my feet up watching inspector Morse my favourite
Such wonderful weather for Easter week. i have spent the morning digging out bindweed roots, dock roots, blackberry roots and cleavers but I have the pleasure of replacing them with spent daffs from their pots, divided primroses and primulas, and osteospermum plants and then I can pot up my summer bulbs into the freed up pots. It is never all tough job whatever you are doing in the garden. Every day now I am greeting favourites I have not seen since last year. Sweet violets are making themselves at home in the limestone chipping path. I had such a Beth Chatto moment when I saw that!
