Good evening Marion , loving the goatee beards ha, lovely colours too, thanks for the advice on my sweet peas, I'm taking a week off in March so I will sow them then, you sound like you've been busy, let's hope the weather dosn't damaged to much tonight , it's dry at the moment in the north but a little windy, hope your friends enjoy there apples Marion
I .have just watched Monty's new series on Big Dreams -Small Spaces. The participants seemed to have quite big gardens. big budgets and lots of friends to help but it was a bit different from the other gardening programs And seeing the horrible clay in one garden reminded me of the bugbear my garden used to be because of it. My two youngest girls used to make dolls pottery out of it and bake them in the greenhouse.
I can hear the wind today indoors and it feels colder but the forecast warning is for stormy weather about 10 am in Bristol so will put on my old raincoat and have a quick safari round the garden to check all is safe while the sun is out.
A warmer, calm dry morning today in Bristol which I was happy to see as I am giving my first talk on my Golden Jubilee Garden this afternoon. I have gathered the things together I am taking as freebies - lots of big apples, garlic bulbs from Mr. Fothergills trials, hand outs with names of the plants, photos printed out of the marvellous cake my FB friends brought me,and of course my memory stick with my slides on. I am so looking forward to it and glad the storm has subsided so it is safer for the ladies to come out.
Look forward to hearing all about it, sounds like everyone will enjoy it, you have put a lot of effort into it. If I loved in Bristol I would be there Of course need cake details too! I have wandered over from the potting shed!
Home from giving my talk. all went well and was well received and I brought back an empty basket. I heard loads of tales of woe of bad fruit crops which surprised me. The cake was delicious home-made fruit cake and nice tea in new mugs. I was invited to their Xmas Dinner on Dec. 10th! so that has been put on calender.
Well done sounds like you've had a good day , just watching Monty's new series, did you see the one where the couple paid £600 for a palm tree, no wonder she was crying when she thought they couldnt plant it, alls well that ends well

Thank you. Beaus Mum. It is a lovely warm church hall and they always provide lovely tea and cake!

Yes, it was a relief to see the young lads tonight only spent £200 and did a great job and became alpine gardeners in the process!
