    Can anyone answer the cucumber question......I'm desperate to eat one but they are still prickly!!

    Think home grown cues are a bit 'bumpy' not smooth like shops. My FIL used to grow them, very tastyimage

    OL - cucumber can be about 15cm or so, and will still have prickles, because they are outside cucumbers.  Greenhouse cucumbers don't have prickles possibly because they are all female cucumbers.  So harvest it, rub prickles off with fingers and enjoy.

    I cant remwmber the rule for when cues are ripe, dunno if it was when the ends are rounded? But all of the ones ive grown had spikes, they rub off easily-go on.....do it, eat one! image

    Ha ha Panda, I think you may have misread, Lily and I are going to share George Clooney (when he sees the light and dumps his current girlfriend for us image), is it George you want to share or cucumber?
