You're absolutely right - last spring was a shocker, and then we had that fantastic summer - this spring has been so much better than last - here's hoping we get another good summer too

Hi Pansyface, it's good to be reminded of what last year was actually like. I was going to record the weather but didn't. Looking at forecast 18th June this year might also be when it warms up. Don't you be doing yourself a mischief, we've enough with a wrecked Panda
Look what greeted me this morning at my desk! I won a competition to get some bread mix samples and had them delivered to work as I was worried the postman might leave them out in the rain and leave me with a box of soggy.
Between this and my birthday haul I've now over 10 kg of flour to play with.
Who ever said that women are hard work to buy for??
Morning All I've just enjoyed my porridge, banana and blueberries too, with a teaspoon of honey, no toast for me though as I'm trying to stay off the bead. I too heard the radio news about the obesity being linked to light in the bedroom.....that explains a lot although I'm not sure how the link works exactly?? Does it make us subconsciously eat in our sleep?!
Hope you're back is bit better Panda.
Have a lovely day out Lesley.....not at all jealous that I'm working while everyone else goes off on day trips
Pansyface, we are very nice when we want to be....mad as a box of squirrels but nice It was Busy Bee that organised it though. It's good to know we have such fantastic virtual friends with us when needed
How does this light at night work? Because I am up at least three times a night as we're in the guest room with thin curtains (will be changing that when we're done decorating!) Forever checking why the outside light has gone off or why the school lights are all on and the alarm is pathetically "mewing" for attention.
Surely this counts as extra exercise?!
I can't even see that the light wakes you up early so you start eating sooner as all this week I've not been waking up at my normal time (05:30 / 06:00) but more like 07:00 when the alarm goes and my partner is still dead to the world until his cup of tea arrives (although this morning he did roll over and discovering I was still happily slumbering away decided to give me a prod to wake me and tell me he wanted his cup of tea!)
I can't figure it out either Clari, maybe the people they did the research with were ones who woke because it was light so didn't wake OH by putting lights on, then sneaked downstairs for a midnight feast

From what little I've read it seems to be to do with melatonin and it's effect on your metabolism - but there's lots more research to be done.
