Good lord that's a lot of rain! I hope it doesn't do too much damage. It still seems very dry here despite the earlier rain. Its a shame it doesn't spread itself out around the country a little better!!
Whose been mentioned Panda? I don't get GW until several months have past and at least three other people have read it - can't justify spending money on a magazine when I could be buying plants (and if I was to buy the electronic copy how would I get the freebie seeds and such like?!)
Might have to try and crowbar my wallet open and take a punt on these I do so love Lavenders and would really like to line the path up the garden (eventually) as our lavender seems to survive the bashing from big feet and dogs.
Does anyone think it a good deal or should I save my money for another day?
I asked a similar question after last months mag came out and I saw the offer Clari, I can't remember if it was on here or another thread but I'll have a look, I think it was Chicky that got them last year and posted pics, they were very small.....plug plants.....and probably won't be as big as I'd want for a couple of years so I'm still debating
I bought the lychnis in the hope I will get seed off it to propagate. its just an expensive seed packet.!!!
Raining again here, thanks for sending it ,Nut. You can keep the hail.
The lavender seedlings I had last year. Grown on, they are ready to plant in final positions now. Some may even flower this year.
Not worth £40, but for £5.65, the cost of a couple of packets of seed, you probably get more plants than you would from 2 packets of seed. The plugs are about the size of the tip of my little finger.
I put each plug in a 3 inch pot, then overwintered in an unheated growhouse. I took them out in March. They should be fine in a cold frame or sheltered place outside.

Just knew it FB!
Last autumns lavender cuttings have been outside all winter and dioing fine, sister's cuttings have done better direct in my garden though. But ... 48 mixed colour lavenders for £5-6 do look tempting. If I do order them I think I'd pot them on a couple of times then overwinter in coldframe if still small and weak looking.
Pouring again now, did manage to get quite a few things planted, chives moved to make room for salvias, primulas split and rehoused, rudbekias rehoused as looking sickly too close to lupins and new rudbekia cherry brandy planted too. Still a few more to go (just another lorry load!)
All in all a good day's gardening despite the weather , well I do have a coat...and wellies...and a hood...and a dry spot under the trees...

Celebs from this thread this month are Lily, KEF, and Chicky
Fidget, do they need to be kept in a GH? That may well be the deciding factor as I have no room if they do
