Oooh, I'd love to go to Highgrove - I understand the veg garden is based on the one at Helmingham Hall, using lots of archways and tunnels for growing beans and squashes over.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I was lucky enough to go to Highgrove a couple of years ago - its wonderful. Hope you and OH enjoy John.
ok - chelsea pics are going on here - as cheating to put them on Garden Gallery, and not really a "garden i have visited" - since we must acknowledge that Chelsea is fantasyland, not real gardens. But so lovely to look at! Here are my fave bits
Morning all! It's raining hard here now. Had a little rant on the Chelsea thread just now so come here to be sociable. Well done on your bargains, Verdun. I had a couple of blue scabious last year from B&Q but their bargain shelves are not yet heaving round here so I'm still waiting to fill my front hanging baskets with red trailing geraniums....
Nice pictures from Chelsea and Westonbirt, thanks for posting. As it's raining I'm going to catch up on the Chelsea coverage on the iplayer today. Take care all
Been awake and catching up on Chelsea as I was outside till half nine last night after work. Made the most of the sunny day and got a lot done. Good bargain Verd. Just been looking at my bargain from last year - a £4 Canna. It's looking well
Off for a look round here to see what you've all been up to.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Had some welcome rain overnight - and one of my favourite irises is flowering away..... so now i am smiling. Will share it, in case it makes you smile too .... Its name is Mer de Sud
The weeds surrounding it are to prove it is my garden, not a Chelsea pic!

From what I have seen on the telly, the Potters Garden and the Japanese one are my faves.
Here are a few taken today at Westonbirt Arboretum
1st for Dove!!! (label 1st to explain)
and the tree? - I first saw one of these at Birmingham Botanic Gardens in 1984 and was told then that it was only 1 of 3 in the UK at that time.
Next an acer taken from underneath to backlight against sky
One of the many paths at W/Birt: this one is called 'Circular Drive'
