Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Stacey - but I got a similar lot of 24 plugs from T&M last year and despite tlc they're still struggling - I might end up with a quarter of them if I'm lucky by the time the spring comes. I'd rather have bought a few slightly bigger ones from the little local nursery where they raise them themselves and take the losses for me. They've taken up space in my cold frame that I could have used for some other plants.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Sun's out, great. Some garden playtime today. The local snowdrop gardens are open next weekend, past the peak I should think but I'll go and support them anyway, lovely gardens, with or without snowdrops.
Tempting Nut - MIL's having some problems with her boiler and isn't really open for visitors at the moment, concentrating on heating just a few rooms with the electric heaters etc - don't want her to feel that she has to heat a room for us - but if the heating engineer gets things fixed in time we might just make it next weekend - Robin's Wood looks gorgeous. Will let you know

Morning all - sun here too And first frost for weeks.
Thanks Stacey - i might give the offers a go - I note what others have said about size of plugs etc, but i have had more than 50% survival rate when i have tried these offers before - and for £5 thats still a bargain. I agree with Dove and Verdun, that when your borders are full its best to select your new plants individually. But mine still need bulking out, and that soon gets very expensive at £5 a pot. I also donate my spares to the garden club plant sales - which means they can afford more star speakers to keep me happy in 2015
Today is part 2 of the bramble assault. Plus OH is digging more soil over ready for 100 beech whips for a new boundary hedge, plus he slipped a couple of cherries, a brown turkey fig (will need your help Dove), and some stepover apples into his shopping cart. I have taught him well. So you can see the attraction of the bargain plant offers - he seems to have blown the garden budget for a while !
