Hi all. Back from our trip which was enjoyable - did things in the right order so we were inside for the worst of the rain. Looks like a mixed day for everyone - rain, sun, wind and thunder. Than's Britain for you
Happy anniversary Lily - hope you have a lovely meal
Panda your skills are really coming on - you're right, It's not a fuschia. Lovely clematis though.
Hope Lizzie had a good day.
Have a good evening all. While we were out fidgets hellebore seeds arrived so I'm off to the garage to start sowing. I may be gone some time
evening all . rain and rain here . dry and sunny evening now . two day concert over in heaton park . can hear it in the garden . footy curry and beer calls . have a good night
Had a lovely day once the violent storm passed through. All my courtyard pots are now planted with annuals that deer don't eat. I had to empty out my tulips, which i will plant in the garden for next year. Don't want to plant them til November, so for the moment i have shaken as much soil off as i can and will leave them to dry out in a box in the GH for a bit. Was then planning to hang them in nets in the shed til the autumn ...... Does anyone know if thats the right way to treat them???
No gardening tomorrow - escorting littlest chicklet and her friends to Wembley Stadium to see Harry and the boys. Best look out the earplugs ...... .....not so much on account of the songs, but the screams will be deafening.
We had some heavy rain on our journey south, but while I was with the Aged Ps (both fine and happy) the sun came out, and by the time OH, friend and I had finished our plaice and chips in the Lord Nelson, the sun was out, temperatures were climbing, it must've been nearly 30C and eating ice cream and laying on the beach was all that was possible.
We lay on the beach until after 5pm - couldn't believe the time - it was still so warm. We drove along the track beside the harbour with the top down before coming home.
I eventually summoned up the energy to concoct a summer vegetable, goat cheese and pasta thing which we ate out on the terrace, washed down with some rosé, watching some newly fledged blackbirds exploring the undergrowth at the back of the pond.
Now I'm on the sofa noodling with you lot while the men wash up.
An especially good thing about today was bumping into an old friend and former neighbour up from Devon for the weekend - what a lovely coincidence

This is a pic of my almost out climbing fuschia
Btw, I know it's not a fuschia . . . it is in fact the clematis that appeared from nowhere!

Hello folks
We've had a simply splendid day
