He has an amazing ability to knock pots over regardless of how carefully I put them out of the way. Seriously I swear I'm one step off cementing the pots down in the patio to try and keep them upright.

The washing machine however I don't think he knows exists. image

I can't even hide anything in my car he has a habit of going in there to twiddle with things.

Ironing board might work but we have a rule that I will buy him any vacuum cleaner he wants but he is in charge of vacuuming - like a nervous dog I can't stand the noise to the oo5int I have to go and stand outside with my knees all trembling!!

Hi everyone, had a busy couple of days so not been on much and not caught up properly.

Happy Anniversary Lily, I hope you've had a lovely day.

Lizzie, I hope your garden party went really well.

I hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

We had our very good friends for dinner last night, drank far too much grape juice so a little worse for wear today. Tomorrow I am off  out with my boys to watch touring cars at Oulton Park, big healthy picnic packed and big umbrellas, raincoats and spare clothes/towels also packed......just in case.

KEF, thanks and no courgettes quite ready yet but soon will be, I've just been out watering image

Evening all, if anyone's still here. I'm knackered, not sure why I'm not in bed! 61 people came, the sun shone, 27°. My helper friends arrived at 11am and made mountains of sandwiches, hulled 6kgs of strawberries, set tables, sliced cakes. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen boiling water for tea. When it's hot they drink so much! Last guests left at 7pm and it was 9pm by the time I'd put away all the crockery, glasses and cutlery.

Everyone was very nice about the garden, but I must admit it was looking nice, though I say it myself. June is it's best month.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

So glad all went well Lizzie - feet up time nowimage.  You have a beautiful garden and it is great that you go to the trouble of sharing itimage.

Yours is obviously an English garden ..... what would the French do differently in a plot like yours ? Don't know much about the French style of gardening, apart from Versailles, and that wouldn't work in a domestic setting.
