Been having phone and internet problems, hard to get on here. Must be the weather.
We eat a little meat and a lot of veg, fish too. I sort of hover about being vegetarian, but I like meat and feel some is good for you and what would happen to the excess bull calves etc if they weren't eaten. Would certain animals become extinct if we didn't use them? But I don't fancy going to an abattoir for it. Bit of a hypocrite really, I suppose. When I had a Jersey cow we did eat the bull calf, but he didn't go to the abattoir, local butcher had a licence and calf (who had a horrid temper) didn't know a thing and he'd had a happy life in the field with his mum and sister.
Hope I haven't started a debate!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning all We've got that yellow thing too KEF.
I was so tired last night I went to bed just after 9 - I've had 10 hours solid sleep! I could never relax that much when I was working! I can remember saying something to OH when he came to bed but I've no idea what it was I said and as he's still sound asleep I haven't asked him As apparently sleep also helps ward off dementia, there's hope for me yet!!!!!!!
Hope all those who are struggling with the weather are ok.
I've just had an email from cousins in South Wales (Gower Peninsula so pretty exposed) - they're ok and feel they've escaped lightly so far compared with some, but said that the weather has been 'pretty bad' - usual laconic South Walean understatement!

Think there's an Old Testament saying about 'sleeping the sleep of the righteous' KEF - We must've earned a good night's sleep somehow
Cousin and his wife live just up the road from Ma's slightly younger sister - she's lovely, loves her garden and her chickens - they moved back from Ireland to be near her a few years ago after my uncle passed away and she was struggling a bit coping on her own. Her mobility's not good, but she's got a high-powered buggy as she calls it, and whizzes around the village on that - they have to take the key away from her when the weather's bad - last winter she slid down into the village in the snow and had to be towed back up! When I was much younger she had a motorbike and red leathers and wrote poetry to raise money for the NSPCC! She thinks I'm more like her than Ma When the fox started visiting her chickens she moved them into the bungalow with her until the coop was reinforced

Good Morning Dove, pleased cousin is okay. I also retired to bed early and slept soundly, so no excuse for any lack of action today.
