Glorious day and the woods just been delivered for the main staircase.. (The last thing we need to do inside so oak forests can now breathe a sigh of relief)
Home from my stupid o'clock bakery shift and did more hours than intended since the delivery driver was late today
Oh well, at least the sun was shining when I took a wonder around my patch and wow, things are gowing away now! Everything seems bigger and my Clematis Dr Rupple is just starting to pop. Although its trained on a lovely trellis, it is currently horizontal because my arch fell down and we havent got round to the bottom end of my garden yet, so it will just have to show off laying across my step for now.
Something else vertically showing off is my Ceanothus that grows up the front house wall. It faces south on builders rubble so the thing is touching the roof now and will need to be hacked back this year...it stops passersby and even raises toots from car horns...I'm sure it trying to get seen on google map!
In my veg plot, my strawberries have lost the plot and gone bananas...so just a fail on my lettuce so far this year...must have been a bad seed batch because I currently have five puny plugs from two sowings
Anyone want a strawberry that thinks its a banana?
Beautiful day, started with shop run to local campsite to sell the happy campers their bacon and eggs, then trip to stone supplier to choose my stone for the planned new terrace, then light lunch in garden of pub I have never visited, as bridegroom and friends assembled for wedding this afternoon, quick trip to GC , just for supplies, home to watch Southampton win and finish off their most successful premiership year ever, new recipe to cook tonight ( Nigel Slate), sea bass with ginger and cucumber and possible trip to local club after. Otherwise not a lot to tell you about really.
Chamomile moved to between decking and lawn so I dont have to strum as ofte
Does the chamomile like you playing the guitar then ....
This is the advantage of being on my own now that the girls are away to their Dad. I'll go back outside to do some more potting and planting and then have a bowl of soup or something for tea later on. Only myself to suit
Woody you have been a busy boy. What have you decided on for the stone?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
My mother was in a good home too, but I was amazed to see on the news that it's not obligatory for carers to have any training and it's up to the boss or owner of the home. No state certificate and some don't get any training.
Have earthed up the potatoes and put in the supports for the broad beans. And weeded the future sweet corn bed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
