We're going to create a new bed in this garden soon (when the weather lets us) and I'll try some primulas here at the front - we tried some in the back garden when we moved here a couple of years ago, but the VWs attacked - we've reduced their depradations by using nematodes, but I doubt if we'll ever get rid of them - but hopefully they've not taken up residence in the front garden yet image

The floods are awful. I read that the water is now rife with sewage bacteria. Cue outbreak of nasty diseases. Its time to send the army in and sort it out. We always send aid to foreign countries, at the moment the fat cats in Westminster need to understand that the aid is desperately needed at home.

Hi Philippa, I'm fairly new too, only been on a couple of weeks and I have only used this thread for general chat. This is the fun one as far as I can see, there are parties with cakes and wine and sleepovers....everyone is invited but I was out for the last oneimage (and yes it seems everyone is slightly bonkers image )

Your poor son and DIL Dove, it must be awful for them and for you worrying about them image Let's hope someone turned the tap off upstairs soon and this wet weather stops.

My beautiful red Megane estate car that I love so much has just failed it's MOT. Don't know the word in English, but it's something to do with a ball joint in the steering (I think). I have 2 months to get it sorted. My car was born in January 2004, I bought it secondhand in Nov. 2004. Previous owners were expecting 4th baby and need a bigger car. Can't believe it's 10 already. Never gone wrong before.

Dove, how are your brothers fields ? Have they drained yet?

  • Hi Fidget - yes fortunately they're not too bad - or they weren't last time we spoke about them - because of the amount of rain the effect of the salt water flooding wasn't as bad as it could've been thank goodness.

Great idea to have a Snowdrop trip up your way image

BL - good luck with the car - I love my Megane cabriolet image
