I'd agree with fidget re the car Verdi. Did exactly the same a year ago! Had to change my car (reluctantly) as it was becoming unreliable and I knew there would have been a big outlay coming up. Nearly bit the guy's hand off at the offer- it was way more than it should have been. You deserve that lovely fire fidget. Nice when you've been out in cold wet weather grafting.
Lovely pic Pam
Thanks for the offer Kef, but if he doesn't see the error of his ways, I have plenty of sharp implements I can use to 'persuade' him with.....
Braising beef in oven ready for making steak pie with mash. Happy days.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fidget you & OH deserve a medal. Great that your Mum still actively growing, mine 85 has taken to looking not doing, is slightly more able than lets on, yet not a patio pot weeded last year, and blueberries, only 2 in pots not pruned as yet and are showing new growth, I so wanted her to take charge of at least two pots. I think last year was her last for toms in GH, sad but have to be realistic. We can't do everything and there's a 1/3 acre to look after. Moan moan moan
Right now if it was suddenly spring I'd love to go and attack things.
Beef stew in oven here, only Yorkshire puds to cook when it's ready
I fancy that steak pie Fairy. On the basis that I have not cooked anything on account of fridge being empty, I think it will be a takeaway tonight and then the supermarket tomorrow; unless I can get it to snow a bit more. Our road is not gritted and becomes impassable if more than an inch of snow.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Hello folks, back from my travels southwards Quite a bit of confusion but Ma's not anxious today so that's ok.
I managed a short walk at the harbour and picked up two beautifully filleted whiting for £1 each!!! Bargain Think I'll do something vaguely oriental with them tomorrow for Chinese New Year .............. and I hope you''re all going to celebrate National Yorkshire Pudding Day on Sunday
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We haven't had any snow today. It has actually been dry. I've bought my seed potatoes (Charlotte, Nicola, lady crystal and pink fir) and they are now chitting on the window sill in the spare room.
Also even managed to get out this afternoon and dig over the bed for my new witch hazel and get it planted which is very exciting. I'm now going to relocated some winter aconites and snowdrops from elsewhere in the garden to underplant it.
Might have to make myself some Yorkshires then...I love them but rarely make them. I use Brian Turner's 'volume' recipe - dead easy and brilliant every time. I make about 7 little ones in a muffin tray with a 1 egg mixture. Quick - and useful for kids dinners.
The blackbird was enjoying his apple today - I'm glad they're finding their way into the garden now and enjoying the berries and the bird food. Looks like snow here tomorrow after all, so at least they know where to come to get their breakfast

National Yorkshire pudding day? Excellent!

Yay! Feels good to get some actual gardening done
Too late pd - we've snaffled it all!

Hi all, rained all day today and now very foggy.
Lovely lunch with friend, very naughty and had cake.
OH bought seed pots yesterday so lets hope the rain eases off and we don't get snow so the ground has time to dry out by the time they need planting.
Kef your quite a way away from me so hopefully the snow won't come here yet.
Lovely pic pottie
Loved your pic too Pottie. Has your honeysuckle still got its leaves? Mine is just bare twigs and flowers ....
Hello all
feeling bit rough today have been and fed the birds and planted a few daffs into plant pots
