No fasting when you're unwell!! It'll do you no good what so ever. Just eat normally for a few days and give your body the food and energy it needs to recover properly.

Good luck with your architect Fairy. I hate it when you find asshats like him who don't listen to what their customers want and get blindsided by what is "easiest".

  • Get well soon  Stacey and Verdun. Of course Verdun will be so much worse being a man. We girls don't know how lucky we are not to suffer like men.  image

Just taken this photo of a bumble bee on the winter flowering honeysuckle. It's not  too warm here but the sun came out briefly. I hope it finds somewhere to shelter soon. Really heavy rain forcast for tomorrow.

Still snowing here, and just starting to settle.

PP you are so right, you girls are very lucky that your illnesses are so minor compared with ours !!!

Have just about bought all the bits and pieces I need to start sowing this years seeds, and am now looking enviously at a few sites thinking of plants I would like, or, more likely at plants I must have.

How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

Verdun,  if you think thats a great offer, get it. Saturday is a new month. It may be that he has to fill his quota this month and is prepared to sell one car at a loss to get his target. Next month is a whole new ball game.

I have just helped OH to move 90  x 60L bags of compost at my mums. Once we had dismantled the dangerous ramp my dad had erected to make it easier. It was easier just to carry them up the steps. Snow stopped while we were doing it, but then started again. It has turned to rain, back here in South Notts, but in North Notts it is settling.

There was a voucher in the local paper for Hodsock priory snowdrop month, 2  admissions for price of one.I think I will wait a week or two, the snowdrops are only just coming out.

I'm sat in front of a roaring fire now. I don't plan on venturing out again today.

  • What is your mum planning to do with all that compost, Fidget? Sorry if I missed if you'd mentioned it earlier.

She grows bedding plants and tomato plants for sale in the spring. The tomatoes and cucumbers go in  buckets of new compost for later in the year. This is only part of the order, the firm rang up to see if she would take delivery on Monday as the van was lying idle.  The rest of the order is to come on a Friday, so my nephews can shift it over the weekend. My dad has been trying to get her to give up growing things, mainly because he doesn't want to do the compost humping, pot washing and filling that are his delegated jobs. (He is 84) The compost has been moved from the front of the garage, around the back, and into the top polytunnel. There are three polytunnels and a greenhouse.
