Just been outside to put some more windfall apples down for the birds. The wind is bitter and it's still raining.
Stacey I like diving in snow I know you meant driving. No kidding about diving I have been known to make a snow angel. Last year we did make a snowman, neighbours must think us daft.
Sunny here, nice day for a walk, might pop out later.
Can remember winters at school, we were made to go cross county in the snow barefoot, i couldn't have told my mum and dad cos i'm sure they would have had something to say about that lol.
Lovely here, raining earlier. Finally got the seeds labelled 'sow in January' into pots and out in the world.
I'll have a stroll round the estate this afternoon, check on the hellebores and snowdrops. Wonderful scent from the viburnum whateveritis when I walked by earlier. Heron sitting by the pond. Gone as soon as it saw me
Are you all laughing at me The bird table has toppled over in the wind, not that it really matters because the birds don't use it, it's more of a squirrel and mouse table!!!
Hooray, just in from a brief walk round the garden, during a brief lull in the rain, and I found an aconite flowering. It gave me a real buzz. To me snowdrops and aconites are the real harbingers of Spring, although I dont have any flowers on the snowdrops yet.
I used to have real problems establishing my aconites, but a few years ago a few clumps just took off, and now I get a great show every year.
My pond is flooding again Nut, but I have had the first Mallards prospecting for suitable nest sites.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Ok ok driving not diving ( ironic as sat watching ice gold diving in Alaska!!!!) my snowdrops are fab fab fab this year I bought 75 in the green of ebay last year and I think every one has come up but I bought 25 doubles and haven't seen one yet!!!!
