Sorry to hear you're not feeling too clever Pat, I am just about back to normal since Christmas so have every sympathy with you feeling down, it's horrible. Hopefully the tablets will take effect soon.
A friend called me yesterday and asked to meet, I haven't known her long and she hasn't lived in France long either. Came to France with a relatively new partner for a 'fresh start'. Unfortunately, it has all gone wrong and she is very unhappy and feels very trapped. I feel so sorry for her. I didn't know what to do or say but I think she felt better better for talking about it. What can you say, how do you help, or do you think listening is enough? Sometimes you just want a magic wand to fix the whole world don't you.
Punkdoc, I hope your holiday fixes your world for you and I hope the fantasy garden thread allows some escapism for everyone fed up with the winter weather.
Enjoy your new cottage BL.
Hope you and OH are feeling better Hosta and you too WW.
My mouth is still tender, tricky eating, but all bearable.
Will try and catch up later.
Good day all.

Right, the hideous cold got worse. Yesterday morning at 00.30 I gave up reading and tried to sleep. Coughed without stopping for 2 1/2 hours. It feels like I'm swallowing glass , both my ears are blocked, my nose is running like a Cumbrian river, hideous pains under my left ribs and I've coughed so much , guess what? I'VE LOST MY VOICE.
MY cough now sounds like a freakish cross between a mad dog and a walrus.
I've hardly eaten in 4 days and had no booze in 5, yet my stomach looks like a beach balloon.
DD - it's difficult isn't it? We so want to help friends find a solution ... but (speaking from experience here) I think all we can do in these circumstances is to be a listening ear, giving them the chance to sort out their thoughts and emotions and consider their options. ((hugs))

Evening all. Well done to you Dove. Sorry your still unwell pat and hope you
Get better soon . Poor Hostas as well, seems to be a lot unwell at minute, get well soon all. Time to relax now kef and put feet up . Tried a tidy up this afternoon but didn't get far . Off to have dinner then a browse through seed catalogue. Night all, take care.

I dosed up on hot honey and lemon yesterday morning and hubby went to pharmacy for meds, which seem to be kicking in now.
