I had porridge too Fidget. It was very healthy until I poured half a pint (slight exaggeration there) of syrup on it. Yummy yummy though image

    Morning all. image

My favourite muesli has been unavailable for a while (post floods perhaps), so I made some yesterday using muesli base and various nuts & dried fruit which needed using up.  Some sour cherries were included - not altogether sure that was a good idea  image  - but it certainly wakes me up in the morning...  image

Forgot to report on the marmalade.  I was worried that left-over crabby clementines might be a bit lacking in pectin and oomph, so added 4 large lemons to the mix.  4lb fruit made over 8lb marmalade, a bit sweeter than I'd choose normally, but not bad.  image  It has loads of peel because the fruit was so small.  And has set like a rock... actually it's a bit hard to spread...  image  ...tends to go on the toast a bit thicker than it should...  image

On the happy front, some wonderful things have emerged following the terrible flooding in our valley.  Here's a quote from someone in Mytholmroyd who lost absolutely everything on Boxing Day:

"Out of this devastation, people of all religions, people of all ethnicities have really come together as one, and restored communities and my faith in humanity.

"The Muslim community have helped the Christian community, the Indian community have helped the atheist community - no matter what everyone's beliefs are, you have all come together as one.

"Hopefully one day we can live in a peaceful world where we can love our neighbour, so whether you are white, black, yellow or green I want to say a humungous thank you to all the communities for what you have done.  Here's hoping 2016 is the year we can live side by side and in peace and harmony."

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Great sentiment Liri.  It's amazing what what we can do in the face of adversity.

Well, as you can tell from all my posts, I'm having a lazy PJ day today, I've cleaned up the devastated kitchen, put some washing on and now I am going to watch TV, carry on with my Peter Rabbit cross stitch and post on the forum.  Woe betide anyone who scuppers my plans.image

I haven't had a chance to read the last 24 hours, so will do so when I wake in the morning. It's too late now. Have been pretty sick again today. I seem to come good in the evening (when the TV becomes a it more interesting.
