Matty - have used hayloft before and always been pleased. Plants can be quite small, but they grow away well. Only had one disaster - with a load of penstemmon that failed - but they replaced them no quibble. They also managed to tell me the name of the aster i bought from them 4 years ago (their filing system is obviously more effective than my diary) even though they no longer stocked it. So definitely good guys in my book
Off to find the corkscrew and a glass, and settle down to Monty ..... Feels like we have really turned that corner now
I'd have got frostbite if I'd paraded bare feet today
Can I dispel the myth about Camellias, Rhodos and Azaleas and acid soil? They're more than happy in neutral soil which is what I've had in every garden. They just don't like alkaline soil. Make sure they don't go short of water in summer as that's when they form the following year's buds.
Hope you're fine Andy - getting out in the garden will have helped I'm sure
I've been very lucky as I've never had weevil damage. Yes - Provado I think Matty. Someone here will advise though if that's wrong.
Roast chicken dinner consumed and will now put feet up too. Daughter made Yorkshires...better than mine so she can do them from now on!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I shall sing it's praises 'cos it was fantastic - acres of wonderful sturdy plants of all sorts, including lots of 'more interesting' ones - even the pots of bulbs including lots of different varieties, not just the more usual ones seen at the big name GCs. And the value!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely amazing. I'm sure that what I bought would've cost me double in Notcutts or Wyvale!!!
Ok, here's what I bought:
Clematis - 3 for £10 - 'Daniel Deronda', viticella 'Purpurea Plena Elegans' and 'Will Goodwin' - not big plants but healthy and sturdy with lots of shoots and buds.
Wow dove!!!! My replacment sieboldii came from Parker's and t looks a bit better but the other one is now about 2ft tall and v healthy!!! No shoots from the base just from last years growth!!! Well let's nurture the other one and see how it goes!!!! Right wine sofa and blanket calls later peeps enjoy the heat wave( must wear sun cream tomorrow I'm beetroot red!!!) oh and lo planted her carrots tonight!!!
Enjoyed GW, mum's two favourite roses both mentioned - Blue Moon and Iceberg - names I've remembered since childhood - they must have been very special to her, she still has an Iceberg, may buy her Blue Moon for birthday.

The pulmonaria is an incredibly well-grown plant and really good value

GW enjoyed here too, but we lost the sound for part of it, until I thought to change to BBC2HD and found that it was working on that channel

On GW we lost the pic for a small bit and sound for good 7mins had subtitles on but hard to read that fast
Nice flowers in his garden, like the rose garden Rachael went to
What a lot of water in Monty's garden
