Morning all. Have a good day all you workers. Am I actually here before Dove? Oh the joys of retirement! But I'm retired too and a late to bed, late to rise person.

I hope no one has been flooded. Very wet here, but we haven't had the winds that England has had. But who knows what the winter holds in store.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Good morning all - just popping in for a few minutes as MIL is here and we're going shopping in a bit - yes, I've done my brisk walk this morning image.  Went to the GC yesterday, I'll confess all later image

Keep safe everyone, especially those of you in the west!!! (((hugs)))

Verdun I was thi ing of you when I heard of the 'weather' and tides down there. Hope your dog recovers and you get there and back safely

My dog has survived - we now call him the Lazurus dog.

The vet was amazed his legs 'returned' -  he is still a bit wobbly but playful. He leans slightly to the left (head and tail) Yesterday I took him on a slightly longer walk (not far though) and he could sniff, he could cock his leg (that went for a while) but he could not do the 2 things together and fell over.

At least now if anything happens I am more preparedimage

Have been outside - with these storms I have now lost 3 lovely ceramic pots with large hosta in. Hopefully being dumped into a cheap plastic pot will not do any lasting damage but the roots may not be covered because of the different pot shapes.

Hope you all keep your feet dry image

Great news John - welcome home.

And great news Matty - Oscar is obviously a fighter.  Is your eye better now?

And fingers crossed for Spike - and hoping Verdun (and anyone else down there in SW or Wales) is keeping safe and dry.  Scary stuff this weather business .image

Hello all. Weather settling down a bit  here after a wild night - for now anyway. More to come apparently and snow being forecast for the weekend. Just when I thought it couldn't get much worse! Glad I'm not nearer the coast (I'm half an hour away) as they have a tidal surge warning  for the Ayrshire coast. Hope you're ok Verd. Pity you've had to go out with Spike - this would have been a day for staying put.

Stay safe everyone who's in the firing line today.

Glad you're getting home today John. Don't be out later digging though....image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
