Evening all. Rather a vile evening though - cold and hailstones image

B'man - you daft old fool! Look after your knees - you need them!  imageimage

Hope the appointment tomorrow for yours goes well Hosta.

How ridiculous having to wait so long for your heating to be sorted jo. Is there any of the landlord's furniture, or belongings in general, that you can burn in the meantime?....image

Looking forward to pix of the cake chicky. Fairylet will be doing her cake soon. Glad things are going well - enjoy that curry image

Clari - get some rest now!

Sending love to Mr and Mrs doc too - not the same without you around doc. Haste ye back image

right, hotel for night before and night after hols booked. They normally have a 14 night parking policy,£5 per night after that, but I suggested I booked the first night, left the car there for 14 nights, then called them on the last of the 14 days to book a room for 14 nights later saying I would leave the car there before , for 14 nights.. See what I did then?image she stuck me on hold , came back and said ok.

Verdun will be proud of my negotiation skills.

Original car parking being refunded due to cancelled flight so the hotel is basically costing us about £15.

    Devon.

    I love Christmas.

It's not how much you spend but what you make it. Our's will be quiet this year, as most years since the two oldest boys went to uni and never came back home to live. We still have the youngest who will be eighteen next year, and each other of course. It's not the same when children are older but I still enjoy making the day special. Every year I slave over the hot stove from dawn till dusk, miss the beginning of the Christmas day film because i'm washing up, make far too much supper that nobody wants and wonder what all the fuss is about by the end of the day image

This year we're having Duck with cranberry and bramley apple pork stuffing, roasted vegetables, glazed sprouts with bacon, rare breed cocktail sausages with honey smoked bacon, broccoli florets and petit pois with lashings of real stock chicken gravy with white wine,

The starter will be breaded garlic mushrooms with four cheese sauce and the pud is a Heritage raspberry Panna Cotta. They'll be a cheese board selection and various coffee choices from our new machine...All is gluten free except the mushroom starter and nothing needs preparation or extensive cooking image

I visited the SM today and got the lot already prepared, no fuss, no slaving, no marathon washing up session image I'm happy, just got a wee bit of stocking fillers to find in town tomorrow and it's time to enjoy.
