Am back from braving the town Ordered what I wanted to order, and can collect Mon lunchtime, just in time for my early Christmas evening with my friends - it's for them I am a happy Panda
Hope you sort something out soon Hosta It might not be the same, but at least you will be together
Hosta so sorry to hear about your holiday being cancelled what a pain, but on the other hand it's better being safe than sorry, as there is a lot of trouble in that area, have you thought of going to Florida , I've been told it's nice this time of year? : )
I've been a busy fairy - outside in the spring weather hacking back the cotoneaster at the back of the garden which borders the rear lane. I wanted to wait till the blackies had eaten all the berries. Feel much better now for being outside and doing something constructive. I also sawed off a large branch of the pine tree to get the greenery for the lounge windowsill. Mission accomplished - and it's all dry
Got the washing in too - almost dry
and the birds now have a little fairyland of their own...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Think it was fidget that was on the ice cream RB. It's not really my thing except on a hot day, but thanks for the offer! A nice bit of cake would be good though. Looking forward to daughter's Christmas cake next weekend

Rb we must be on the same wavelength as I bought a tub of ice-cream for tonight too but Fidget made me choose salted caramel. The SM wasn't too bad here either and all I've got left to buy is the last minute fresh stuff. I do love a sprout or two.
Congratulations on the cottage Lizzie
Hard luck about the holiday Hosta. I'm sure you'll have a great time wherever you end up. Must admit that lying on the beach all day is not for me but OH loves it. We just have to compromise.
Hello folks - we're back from our day out in Cromer - OH had a beer on the pier, then we had a starter of Cockle popcorn (wonderful!!!) followed by fish & chips - he had cod and I had skate.
Cromer was lovely, the day was mild and the sea was flat calm. We did lots of wandering around, strolling along the prom, watching the birds, including some little turnstones who had ventured up onto the pier and were looking for snacks between the boards. Then we went up the cliffs and into the town for some window shopping and admiring Christmassy decorations, then as it began to get dark we came home, popping in for a cuppa at friends' on the way - we took them some fudge 'cos they've had a bit of a tough year
Now we're on the sofa in front of Strictly and the cauliflower cheese is in the oven.
I'd better have a proper read of what's been going on ... I have picked up that Hosta has to find another holiday destination - hope you find somewhere to suit your and that it all turns out ok
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

if Hubby had looked at his email, he'd have read it 2 days ago.
Full refund but now have to book another holiday and change all the hotel / car park arrangement too.
RB - too late...I'm barking anyway....
Hosta...It's a pain, but I think you should take a leaf out of big shiny Dave's book, and 'chillax' ....

no chance of getting me to Florida flumpy. We always go east rather than west.
We're looking at Hurghada further down the red sea.
We just want somewhere warm, not too long a flight and just lie on the beach all day toasting.

Lesley I totally understand about the beach laying thing. I know lots find it dull, but mercifully we both love it.
