Managed a quick whizz back, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better Lilly P and got through a difficult day.
Bushman too, hope you are over the worst now.
Well done Hosta's daughter, hope that is the first of many welcome changes for her.
Clari, I presume you are giving the award - can you nominate yourself and do they have one fr the Worst Boss of the Year?
Hope you get your fire fitted Jo, just not acceptable.
I have managed two Christmas parties and a lunch out today as well as teaching two classes - just have the i*****g to get through tonight and then the house is spick & span (including OH's office) in time for me to collect him from the airport tomorrow (after Book Club Xmas Lunch) Shame he is bringing back a suitcase full of dirty washing.
I was sent home from one party with leftover cake and vin chaud so I won't be too worried about the doing the i*****g in-between nibbles and slurps.
Have a good evening all.

Mmmm supper was lovely ... slurp slurp and licking of chops noises Sorry, none left
No heating on here for a few days now, but we're feeling very festive 'cos of all the lovely Christmas cards that have arrived
Son is a Chelsea fan and chairman of his local football club. He sacked his manager yesterday (no choice, he went into the ref's dressing-room after the match and had a go at him!!!). Obviously Roman Abramovitch has followed suit.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I have a narcissus in bud. Also a pot of iris has a flowering ragged robin in it. I don't know where that came from, a prezzy from the birds I suppose. The garrya is flowering away, I knocked it while I was going to the bins, clouds of yellow pollen. Hellebores are well advancedand will soon be in flower. Apart from the short days, you would think it April. We have a big group of assorted blue and long tailed tits that have been entertaining us today, dangling off the fat blocks.
Why is it when ordinary people get the sack for incompetence, they get sod all, but football managers and bankers get millions?

I'm not greedy, Waitrose could sack me for half that jo.
Evening all. Just awaiting dinner then I have to take a fairylet out - beginning to wish I hadn't volunteered ...
I see LP's been on the sauce already ...I don't know...

Great result for your daughter Hosta. A new start is a good feeling and it'll make the other bits easier to deal with.
Sorry you've not been well again Bushman- hopefully things will improve, even if you're rattling
Your dinner sounds lovely Dove - and I hate lamb!
Heating has switched off as it's even mild here - into double figures all day. We even switched off one of the fires at work for a while - unheard of!
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
