But I lied! I'm a liar changed my mind about staying in bed and went shopping instead. I'm back already so it was successful. All presents bought now, just need to wrap them this afternoon, then a spot of D.I.Y will leave me a whole day free tomorrow but then I have to work to help OH meet some deadlines and avoid a grumpy Christmas
Bushman hope you feel better soon, it sounds like you've 'been through the mill' as my mother used to say.
Hope you feel better soon Clari.
We are 'landlords' hubby's parents left us a small house which we rent out. We have had the same tennant for years and we have never increased the rent and hubby always responds quickly when they need something. I'm dreading the day we have to sell it and tell our tennants (we will need the money to pay off our interest only mortgage).
Hosta sounds like the new job could be just the boost your daughter needs.
Pat don't know how you survive knowing that deadly snakes are in your garden, I would never set foot outside the door.
Went out to check the greenhouse this morning, everything looks OK need to get a small bag of compost to pot on some blue poppies. Had a stroll round the garden, everything is so soggy, think I will be leaving everything well alone until February time.
Last of the Christmass pressies delivered today so just wrapping to do, when I get some paper.
Good afternoon all, just on my dinner break reading all your posts, some of you are very early birds : ). Chicky I too can't wait for spring again and longer days : ) .
Have shopped around for new house insurance, Direct Line class our rent paying tenants as "lodgers" as they are on the same site, they have no issue about "the lake" and have quoted us £343 a year compared with Swinton who class us a " farm" and wanted £1,511.
Just called Hubby and suggested that means I can spent the £1,200 saving on the garden. I have to say it fell upon deaf ears.
Thanks Verdun and Yvie regarding my daughter. She does indeed need / deserve a boost.
The kitchen smells amazing - two lamb shoulder shanks in red wine with garlic and rosemary are braising slowly in the oven, and a pot of red cabbage and apple with fennel seeds is simmering on the hob.
The red cabbage is to go with some belly pork slices and roasted apple tomorrow. It's always better when it's a day old. We'll have purple sprouting broccoli and creamy mashed potatoes with the lamb shanks.
OH has been cooking for himself when he arrived home from work for the past couple of days as I've been out socialising - thought he deserved some proper 'home cooking'.
However, all that good work has done severe damage to the glamorous deep red manicure I've been flashing around for the past couple of days
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Rb I hope your son's physio went well and that it wasn't too painful for him.
Jo I really hope you have some good news from the agents very soon, heaven knows what they're playing at.
LilyP, your poor Auntie. It must be so hard to know what to say to her to bring any comfort. ((Hugs)).
Hosta - congratulatiins to your daughter

We talked about her son my dear cousin and I told her how much I have always loved her A good visit
