Afternoon all. Am now on my last train- the big one from London was half an hour late! Am also boiling hot. Who'd have thought it would be so warm up here! Well, it's warm on the trains anyway
Thank you all for your best wishes
Sorry to hear your news Clari, and I don't mean about work!
No haggis for me thanks - had scampi and chips in the pub at lunchtime - how retro is that? At least they weren't in a basket lined with a red napkin ....
Will anybody be able to stay awake for Uni challenge & Only Connect if you've been on the whisky since before 11am? - you are a very naughty influence Dove - but I guess it is a special St Andrew's Day this time
Not much else to report other than it's dark, wet, windy and feels more like 7pm than 5pm. Think I should do something productive for a couple of hours but am thinking about having a cup of tea instead ...
PS - Clari - your boss sounds like a real idiot. I thought you were looking at moving on - did anything come of that?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
...........you are a very naughty influence Dove..........
No haggis for us today ... OH requested curry so there's a Massaman chuntering in the oven ..... we'll have haggis tomorrow - or at least I will. There's a home-made one large portion steak and kidney pie in the freezer for just such occasions ... what occasions are those? I hear you ask ...... occasions when I refuse to share my haggis

Clari, be careful here, seems like it's not the only occasion you have reiterated this situation me thinks your boss takes advantage
Evening all, long day of tiling here, only have small gaps to fill now. ..then the floor is going down at last. House is full to brim of new stuff arriving. Today was large picture frames (finishing touches for hallway), and Christmas presents. Tomorrow stair carpet and brass rods plus hanging pan rack and glass shelves for kitchen. It's so tiny I need alI the space I can get!
On a good note, son is coming to help with wall painting and finally got and electrician coming on Friday to hang two new lights and fix my cooker socket.
Also, convinced OH to have a shed fitted in the spring for all his wood sniffing antics. He used to build exquisite doll's houses when he was younger, now he wants to build ships. I'm giving up part of my border, which I really don't mind, I want this for him as he always buys things for others and not himself. That's his main Christmas pressie sorted too, result
Topbird. I did find an absolutely amazing job but it wasn't enough hours / pay so realistically I'm stuck here a little while longer. When the boss isn't interfering the job is really good: but he has no concept of management or respecting those that will be the ones backing him up should anything go wrong.
Still raining, may et to 40 days and 40 nights at this rate. Stream is very full, but not ready to flood yet!
Very boring day, catching up with various TV programmes. OH has spent whole day on computer looking for jobs and she is looking miserable. Better go and make he a G@T and cook her some dinner.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

dont worry about not having any haggis, that is actually a delicacy we save for Burns Night which is January 25 th so you have plenty time!
