Kef, Northern gardeners can multiply by 2, and Scots by 3? This is all getting a bit complicated. Better ask the RHS to adjudicate.
Chicky, one of my new year's resolutions is to shop as much as possible in the village shop. I did that this morning, which now seems a doubly fortunate idea. My alternative was Waitrose.
I've got two hellebores in pots in flower, but they were bought like that when I bought them , so they could have been forced. Adeep purple orientalis type is struggling to open a bud, but not quite there yet.The hazels have catkins, and the Viburnum bodnantense Dawn would be expected, and the broccoli that has run to flower when it didn't get picked.
The odd things are the oxeye daisy, hesperis matronalis, and the purple flowered golden leaved dead nettle, and the lychnis coronaria.
There is some white argyranthemum struggling on, and the bowles mauve erysimum has started flowering.
The squirrels have dug a lot of bulbs up that will need planting again.
Any flowers with the benefit of indoors, including GH and KWS are half points only... RHS rule 26.45.a) 3.5.. subsection c) except where the gardener is more than 26 years old, where.... oh, forget it!
Hi everybody, back home in the wind and rain. Now in the warm having a cuppa.
Hope everybody has a great evening. My very best wishes to you all for a very happy and healthy new year. May all your wishes and dreams come true. Take care everyone lots of love Lily xx
Well thats my liver saved! We were off to friends for the New Year celebrations, but they have called off, lightweights! So looks like we are staying in. Right need to do something with a fillet of pork, at least we have plenty of booze.
Have a great time everyone.
