Hubby has promised to help me lift the last of the dahlias and get them into the tunnel before we head off to the sun. He hates the cold even more than I ( because he has no flesh) I wonder if , something might come up, which stops him being able to help?
Went to Woolston station to collect hanging baskets met Mark our main man person got given some new high viz vest nice blue ones with the three rivers logo on, had a nose though the fence to which area he is trying to get a lease on quite a few bits of rubbish, good size space
Rather windy here went to the allotment had to try and re cover pallets tarpaulins blowing around done some digging for an hour being blown around then been raining for rest of day mild but very windy which does make it feel colder
Evening all. Glad no one's suffered too much in the windy wet stuff. We still have yellow warnings here for wind and rain ( fair enough for ferries, travel etc ) but I do often wonder, forecast wise, does everything slightly different now have to be a 'big event' that we need to be warned about? It's November. It's Britain. We get wind and rain...that's all I'm saying....
Having said that, it managed to get to 7 today Verd, which was a nice change. Nearly looked out the bikini!
KEF- that's a pain about the blood pressure. Shouting at doc won't help it though
Glad all was well yesterday chicky. Puts your mind at rest
Roast chicken in the oven for dinner. Yum
Is your racquet shorter too Dove?...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Knocked off a wee bit early tonight, hurrah for flexi time Was supposed to be cooking risotto for tea but realised I haven't got half the ingredients Instead we're having one of KEF's faves, spaghetti carbonara
No wind damage here blew a hooley though wind is picking up again Fairy, I agree, surely this is standard winter weather?
Certainly is here Panda....and this is the most benign part of our winter - from now till the end of the year. After that is when it really gets grim.
Hoping to get out on a hill at the weekend - weather looking drier and calmer - as long as I get my other knee brace. There will be lots of snow and it will be sub zero plus another ten degrees or so with wind chill. Happy days!
Might need a hat...
Could do with some of your apple pie to go with my roast Ggirl...

I remember Gryff Rhys Jones on Orkney saying:
" here they have 10 months of winter followed by 2 months of really severe weather"
Hosta - they also say that if the wind stops blowing for a moment on Shetland, everyone falls over....
