My sister phones me from the bath...I kid you not! In fact, considering the weather today - I'm expecting one in about an hour or so as she'll assume I'm not walking..
Is it very bad if I don't answer? Caller display is so useful....
T'bird - I think I can get by with choccy cake and tea today and not feel too guilty about not walking. Just as long as I don't make a habit of it
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Jodrell Bank sounds interesting Runny. Let us know if you enjoy it if you go. Might be somewhere different to go next time we go to the Peaks on holiday.

Afternoon everyone. Rb I'm still at home because of the weather but heading off tomorrow. I don't know how everything will fit in the car? I keep finding more stuff to take.
My cousin used to work at Jodrell Bank years ago, looking into pulsars and quasars. We visited quite often. Topbird it's an interesting place and has an arboretum. Hope you enjoy it Rb.
It was my mil who used to spend hours on the 'phone telling me everything she had told me the day before. I certainly wouldn't 'phone from the bath - that's my total relaxation zone.
Hello folks We're back. Jolly blowy at Cromer but as the wind was off the land and the tide was going out there were no big breakers so no surfing. There were several largish boats making the most of calmer water in the lee of the cliffs as they travelled up and down the coast. We had a bracing walk along the prom and then went to No. 1 Café.
We didn't have cod & chips, nor plaice, haddock or rock eel. I nearly chose skate (or at least a related ray), but in the end we both had lobster and chips!!!
Half a good sized and very tasty hot lobster each, dripping with garlic butter, a proper chunky chips and a really lovely rocket salad with shavings of pickled turnip, pale pink beetroot, cucumber and carrot with a wonderful dressing. A white wine spritzer to wash it all down with - and a table by the window so we could watch the seagulls performing aerial acrobatics in the wind and a family of cormorant travelling southwards, just skimming the surface of the water.
There's a lot to be said for eating at a fish & chip café owned by Galton Blakiston.
After our lunch we strolled around the town while town councillors and others struggled in the wind with long ladders and coiled lengths of electric cabling as they put up the town's Christmas lights, and we gazed at shop windows full of windmills, sticks of rock and sensible vests - we bought some crumpets and raisin bread to toast for tea - and now we're home and the heating's on.
It's been a lovely day
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I'm afraid if anyone phoned me whilst I was in the bath I'd start blowing bubbles to put them off! Our bathroom does echo so nicely.
Very wet and windy here, so half watching the F1 while a smelly dog / swamp monster snoozes next to us. I took the chance to finish tidying the strawberries this morning: rescued last year from the sin bin at Homebase all abused and heavily reduced. I think there were about 8 by the time I composted the definitely dead ones. We're now up (pending them surviving the winter) to 26! Shows you that reduced bin comes in useful to those of us who have the patience and tight wallets.
Has anyone else noticed their strawberries are still flowering? I've been cutting the flowers off mine since the end of September but they're still trying! The poor garden is so confused (and full of weeds). As much as I hate to say it: we really need a proper frost!
Right, best carry on doing my homework. I've got to write my observations on watching people talk (formal / informal situations to base communication problems on). For some reason I've got the gardeners world website open and The Range (looking for ideas to make the caravan more comfortable: best get the sewing machine out!)

sounds wonderful Dove.
I thought I'd make a start on lifting dahlias.
I managed 8 before aching knees won out.
