Thou shalt think as I do! Thou shalt not have opinions of ones own! Thou should know ones place......and what ever you do...if your a woman don't take up driving!

Or alternatively, we could all respect that all of our opinions comes from a different point of reference and are going to have differing views based on our experience and dare I say, upbringing. The respect part was the important bit tho image

  • Wonky, I must say that your husband's family are probably the most integrated East Anglians I've come across, despite your hub being first generation British and his parents only having been here since the 1960s - no ghetto for them image

Couldn't agree more Dove! My mother in laws favorite dish is my fish pie or chicken and leek, she won't go back to the Caribbean as she doesn't like the climate and they don't have a Marks and Sparks on her island either! The very thought! image

Verdun said "PEOPLE WILL NEVER INTEGRATE. When will we ever understand that?  Why should they?"

I'm afraid I found that rather shocking. People do integrate. The English are a complete hotch potch of mixed races and from centuries ago. There are loads of lovely people who came to live in England who are completed integrated, of colour or not. I know some lovely Indians, educated, well mannered who now are really English. I think my children and especially my grandchildren are completely French, but my children are English too.

The vast majority of migrants and refugees are normal people who have lost everything thanks to fanatics. Unfortunately, the fanatics have managed to smuggle themselves in with them. Imagine someone coming to your front door with guns and knives telling you to get out, join the fanatics or be killed.

Sorry, this probably isn't the place for all that. Dove is being sensible and bringing in a lighter note.

Wonky, your mother in law sounds like me! No Marks and Sparks here either and it gets too hot in summer!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Brilliant Pdoc image  Will have to make a small detour on our way to the seaside tomorrow morning - yes folks, in true British tradition we're going to Cromer tomorrow in the wind and the rain to eat fish and chips image
