No idea why it was brighter over your way this morning - must be the sun shining on the righteous
There's a garden centre on the road south of here which sells very few plants other than annual bedding as far as I can see - most of the space is taken up by furniture, clothing, odd nicknacks and a huge restaurant. I've given up going there
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I'm just starting on the boxes of tissues Fg, yesterday was all sinus pain and popping ears - now things are 'loosening' and I'm beginning to cough and splutter - delightful
I'm thinking of going for a stroll down to the marshes later today if the weather stays dry, just to get some fresh air and try to 'clear the passages'

Just having a quick look here before the evening news gets too far ahead.Charles and Camilla in Canberra today (in the rain so they should feel at home ). War memorial duties I hear. 11 November memorial. I'm not trying to be flip about it, just wondered why they needed to come all this way for it. Maybe it's just me.
Fine day here and public holiday for Armistice Day so a hard day in the garden for us both I fancy.
Lily - someone mentioned amusing place names yesterday. The R Piddle in Hampshire didn't get a mention, nor Lower Peover in Cheshire.
We're q lucky with garden centre-type places at home: there's one as you describe, full of expensive presents, books and smellies (and a good cafe) as well as plenty of good gardeny stuff but next door there's a proper nursery with an enormous range of plants as well as just about everything else you want.
Dove - hope you and other casualties are feeling better today
Not only does the sun shine on the righteous but The rain it raineth on the just/And also on the unjust fella/But chiefly on the just because/The unjust's nicked the the just's umbrella.
We have a garden centre as Dove discribed, it is good for composts and the statues and water features are fantastic, they sell a wide range of greenhouses and garages, swings, arbours etc, lots of wood to build your own, plants......absolutely useless.
its better to spend a day with my friend Hosta, always get plants and seeds there
He should be home today, seems like he enjoyed his mini break.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Not sure what you are all talking about re Little Piddle, but remember seeing many years ago a road called Pratts Bottom
Will try and read back later

That's what our local one is like Dove, although it does have some plants outside
The inside area, which is much bigger, is mainly fripperies
How many boxes of hankies have you got through?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
