It's raining here and I'm glad for the rest this morning since I worked my socks off yesterday.
Abstaining from Christmas presents affords me a Garden budge each year and this year OH has been extra generous so I am currently getting through a lot of planting, 20 bags of bark chippings and 1 ton of Cotswold stones for a new paved area in the middle garden.
To catch up on the story of the middle garden, I once had an overgrown Pampus Grass that left a big hole when it died and a new full sun border to design. Add to that, the lacklustre appeal of said middle garden and an ancient arch that was blown over this winter, resulting in a complete overhaul for this section, but I'm getting there slowly...
Before
and after
Still so much to do and waiting for a delivery of two sun loungers, the first garden furniture I've had in oooooh, about twenty years. Enjoy your days everyone!
That looks great Wintersong, you have obviously worked really hard. We got new loungers for the garden a couple of years ago, I say new, they weren't to replace any as I've never had one, I never really had time to sit and do nothing. Last year I made sure I had time, if working from home I had my lunch hour sat outside doing nothing, it was bliss
Update on the 'acid green' thing Dove- I know it can be a nuisance, but Alchemilla would look great with Ophio. or perhaps a well chosen Euphorbia depending on the look required? Some of the unusual tulip varieties in a pot with it round the base could be quite a striking for this time of year.
A row of five big pots on Verd's estate would be even better
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
As long as it doesn't impinge on the log cabin - I was thinking he could lay us a lovely patio outside with that polished slate I was talking about - lots of slate in Cornwall
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Morning all. Raining like mad here and looks like it has been for some time!
Morning all. It has been raining here, but not currently. Would be quite happy though if it starts again. The garden definitely needs it
The rain has just stopped here, and now its brightening up. Thats going to save me from a lot of outside watering.
The rain has finished off a lot of tulips, but some doubles are just starting.
Looking good Wintersong & Fidget.
Still raining heavily here and I'm not fancying being in GH, so HW & hope it stops / eases soon.
