Survived last night sat in a very haunted building, where reputed nasty men try to strangle ladies and child tease you. The daft things you do for work!

Sat listening to the radio this morning and it was nice to hear the local gardening station mentioning people growing grapes and lemon trees which adds variety to my garden plans: shame they don't mention what types! I'm considering joining the local horticultural society but am rather undecided right now.

Hope you get chance for a nap Verdun image

Best get on with the washing an ironing... does it ever stop?

Good morning everyone. Have just now had a chance to catch up on the last 24 hours of posts, so all I can say is best wishes to all who have problems. Still thinking about Bushman missing his companion cat.

The days are rather constrained for me because it seems rude to sit and send posts while in the midst of a conversation.  After moving hoses around again today, tonight we have received a big thunder storm with thunder and lightning as well as heavy rain. About time too. It also meant that the computer needed to be shut down in case the lightning got too close.  I did manage to take a couple of photos today plus my friend felt she would be able to manage to have some plants to take home. So I dug up some chives and oregano and settled them in pots for her. They are planning on leaving on Thursday.

While on our drive around yesterday, we stopped at a little cafe in an unlikely

To continue, we stopped at this little place where she not only sold hot drinks. But was obviously a keen gardener and had lots of unusual plants for sale. She had the most spectacular red/ orange oriental poppy I've ever seen. I managed to buy one, and also a good sized aubergine seedling and  some lovage (which I haven't grown for many years).  So they'll be finding special places to go in the garden when I get the chance.

the iPad kicked me off, earlier,

Hope your fog/mist has dispersed now Flowers, Rb and lily. Spoke to Mum and Dad in Cheshire and their weather was the same.  Lovely and sunny here for a changeimage

Chicky - baby steps Is rightimage.  I expect any medication he's taking will add to the tiredness.  I've planted some bulbs but still have more to goimage.  Sarah Ravens catalogue is 'almost' irresistibleimage.

Rb the shepherds pie was yummy - what are we having next weekend?  I think we're getting risotto at sil's todayimage

DD I think your next date should be a small, intimate restaurant.  Glad you enjoyed the dancing thoughimage

Sorry about the sciatica being so bad at the moment.  I wish there was something I could suggestimage.  We never had halloweens like they do now either.  There was All Souls where we did go door to door singing "soul, soul, for an apple or two, If you haven't got an apple a pear will do, If you haven't got a pear a ha'penny ll do, If you haven't got a ha'penny, God bless you".

Jo - we need to see a photo of you in your bikini with your deep purple hairimage

Panda your bulbs sound very nice And you've had a lovely treat this morningimage  I'm still humming Pink Panther thoughimage

Panda - I went for the "vintage silk" collection.  Have used the Venetian one before and it was fab - just too "zingy" for where I need to put my pots.  Deer love tulips more than anything else (SGL, bewareimage) so my pots have to go in the cage for safekeeping, and at that time of year it is mostly pastel shades.  If your hair is the colour I'm imagining, you will be very welcome to come and sit there next spring ....you'd blend in luvverlyimage

    Afternoon all.

    Thanks for the kind wishes.

I have the most intense pain in my left buttock. Can't lie on it, nor on my back.

As has been said, it could have been a whole bunch worse.

Right, beautiful day so I'm off into the garden to hobble about.

    Devon.

Afternoon - another glorious day now the fog has dispersed.

Just back from dropping OH at start of a cycle ride with the local club, followed by car refuelling, SM and a quick trip to the local nursery to buy some winter pansies, ivy and scilla bulbs.

This afternoon I shall be planting up a few pots with layers of tulips, tete-a-tete, scilla, pansies and ivy. Am hoping they will look ok - never really sure with WF pansies. Last year they weren't in flower for most of the winter & only really got going when the weather warmed up - by which time the bulbs were starting to flower & it was all a bit of a jumble. One last try to make the 'scheme' work this year.

Sorry to hear your btm is sore Hosta. You haven't  hurt yourself a bit more seriously than you think have you? image

DD - I nearly put my OH's phone down the loo last time he did that to meimage. (Wedding where he didn't really know anybody & there was a bl***y 3g signal.) Browsing the internet clearly easier than making small talk  image

Pat - you seem to be having a nice time with your guests

Verdun - I've spent a night in A&E like that. Didn't get seen until 5.30am at which point they decided I had been triaged incorrectly & admitted me straight away. True emergencies seemed to get seen straight away (quite rightly). Unfortunately on this particular night they all seemed to be caused by drink-driving or fights under the influence of alcohol. The rest of us had to wait...  A&E is not a pleasant place to be on a weekend or bank holiday night.

Hope everybody else enjoys the rest of their Sunday - whether wearing bikinis or gardening gear & whichever colour hair they are sporting today image

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
