While you lot are polishing hats, I'm polishing copper jugs for the flowers. Now, after the carved buffet at lunch. ( turkey crown, roast beef, roast gammon or poached dressed salmon, new tatties and salads), would you like chocolate mints with the tea or coffee, or a thorntons continental? I have to get a box of chocs per table.

I still haven't sorted out the music. I need to do the penstemon cuttings.

    See you later folks.

Speaking of flowers - when I go out there to pick the last of the tomatoes and grapes, I think I'll pick a big bunch of flowers for the house - the rain's going to spoil them all image

That's a thought Wonky - given last tenant's abysmal record at opening door to tradesmen, you and hub had better ask Landlord when boiler was serviced last!

Sorry - you've probably though of that - just being a mum image

Mmm fidget, I quite like a mint but I like Thorntons tooimage.  That's a lovely feast you've organisedimage.

Jo I haven't seen so many poo bags hanging in the trees and bushes lately.  Either the culprits don't walk there any more or they're not picking upimage.  I agree that standing on one leg is dangerous.  I once did that on a kitchen stool when trying to reach a cobweb, fell off and broke my collarbone.  The cobwebs are now welcome to stayimage

DD it's not much fun doing things one handed - takes twice as long and is sometimes impossible.  Hope your hand heals soon and is not too painful.

Good idea Dove, think I'll pick a few flowers this morning tooimage

We will be Ok for bin bags this year. The heat shield fell off under the car.Himself fixed it, but I had to empty the boot.  I only put back the cool bags and the bags for life. I must have taken forty ordinary carriers out and put in kitchen to use for binbags.

Why do dog walkers hang poo bags on trees?. Put it in a bin. Why do people chuck rubbish in the sea?  I've seen all sorts. Turtles eating plastic bags, lobsters in old tyres, octopus in old coke bottles, sharks trailing fishing line from hooks. Turtles laying eggs on a beach with so much rubbish on it, the hatchlings have to fight through it to get to the water.image
