Evening all, nothing exciting to report. Got back from Nanna duty this morning and went and got talons coated in a nice Christmas glittery gold. Have wrote some cards and wrapped a couple of pressies, need to buy some more paper.
Steam stripping is definitely the way to go Clari, makes it so much easier.
Thanks for all the comments re secondborn's house move, no news at the moment but have started to look at other properties just in case.
Thanks Fidget I'll see if I can get hold of one. (I want to strip the bedroom too so anything to make things a little easier as there's over three layers of paper in that room!)
Having cuddles with a very tired little (ha!) German Shepherd I think he's saving himself up until his lordship gets home so it looks like I've not been pauing him any attention all day.
Lilly: my trouble is that I get the brand name of a known paint company muddled up a certain birth control manufacturer. I never trust myself to say it out loud!
Clari, Hubby home and I've asked him about your paper. ( He's been a painter/decorator for over 35 years )
He says if it's been painted you might be able to remove " the face" to expose the backing paper underneath. Otherwise he suggests the Scorer, then soak the walls, go back the beginning, soak again, Leave to soak in , but not enough to dry out, try the stripper , if not good, soak again.
Evenin all.......just wondered if anyone had any ideas about a current pc issue I have.
Recently I sent mine away to have a dodgy hard-drive replaced. Everything zippy & working fine on return, but it was minus my current Norton Antivirus.....and here's the crux, since reinstating the said Norton, the pc is somewhat slower.
Any ideas?
PS, it's still about 10 times as fast as any others I have seen.....nothing as desperate as seeing an 'egg timer' or 'whirly wheel'.
Clari, I did my hallway recently and the idea of stripping off wallpaper from that tall bit ended very quickly with the idea of having to tug the wallpaper at the top of the ladder
We opted for painting over the wallpaper with a roller on a long pole. In our defence, it looks great and it's not chip paper
LP, so glad your back has the chance to recover from what others are writing, sorry I missed your post
Went into town today to get my new phone unlocked, it's lovely but need to learn how to use it. Also bought two jumpers by Julian Mcdonald who isn't my usual designer of choice but they were perfect for my style. Not worried about paying full price one week before the sales because I never find my size in the sales and I used to buy anything in a sale rather than exactly what I was looking for. I've stopped buying in the sales these days unless it's plants
I might look at Christmas trees when they reduce them, ours is over twenty years old and looks lovely now it's decorated, but is showing it's age
Had a bit of a scare last night after Flynn stole a chicken bone off my plate. Had a restless night waiting for him to sick it up which he didn't do and seemed fine and perky all day but we took him to vets anyway to feel his tummy. She couldn't feel anything and since he's not unhappy, it's a question of wait and see. Ex-rays are the next step if he gets poorly at £250, I wonder that Mr Supervet should be renamed Mr richvet
Hello folks - I'm back from Ma's Christmas Party at the Lovely Home - so funny, she had one glass of wine, then it was hard to get her to drink anything else in case it had alcohol in it - she had a glass of sparkling apple and melon juice but she was convinced it was alcoholic
There was loads of amazing food - think the chef overcatered a tad and so many of the residents were just excited and chatting so they didn't eat much - I got a plateful of food for Ma and some for me and ended up eating most of both as Ma only wanted a few crisps and a tiny cocktail quiche.
By the time I got home I was tired and didn't feel like eating. I've had a doze on the sofa, but still think I'll get an early night - but first I'll have a look to see what's been going on here

Lol Clari
Lovely lunch with friends, still stuffed
Clari, try googling
Stanley Max Orbital Wallpaper Scorer
Hubby uses one. Worthwhile if you've got more rooms to do.
He's not a great fan of steam removers though. Each to his own though.

Sounds a right barrel of laughs. NOT
