Can we rewind and start again please - in the half hour since I've been up I've broken a nail and lost my diary for recording overnight temps ...... I found it again, but it was in the search (down the side of the sofa) that I broke my nail (I have awful nails, they're short and crumbly but they'd improved with me having been on holiday last week image)

OH has made me a coffee - sit on the sofa and ................ breathe image

Good morning all image G'day Pat image

Hi Dove. I've had a better day than your start. Got a lot of little jobs done and (no broken nails) , but I sympathise - very irritating,  the temp in the GH today reached 40c. The plants were looking a bit limp. image

I've been told. We're putting the clocks forward, not back! I don't really understand why I find this so confusing every year.  Never mind, tomorrow, when I open the site, it'll tell me what the time is in UK and I'll know what it is here. imageimage

Morning Dove and Pat and those to come image

Sorry to ask Pat - but is Susan your daughter? You may have said but I must have missed that. These anniversaries are difficult. October and November are like that for me. Glad you're feeling a bit more like yourself though.

Fish is the answer Dove. My nails are quite strong but I noticed a huge difference in their consistency  when I ate more fish - mainly salmon for me. The oils I suppose? image

Off to Perthshire to walk shortly - just one of the Corbetts there. Beautiful part of the world so hope the skies clear. East is supposed to be clearer - as often is the case!

I'll have a quick look round before I go.

Have a good day everyone image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks for the suggestion Fg image, I do eat a lot of fish and take fish oils - I've always had weak flaky nails  - the problem has been made much much worse over the last 10 years or so by a severe hypothyroid condition which although helped by medication still has an effect on various bits of me (e.g. muscle and joint problems, tiredness and brittle splitting nails).

    Good morning Wonky image

    Good morning allimage

Wonky, pace yourself.  Rome wasn't built in a day you knowimage.  Shame about the nail Dove.  I only seem to break one before a special occasion or holidayimage.

Enjoy your walk Fairy and I hope it brightens up for you.  It's rather dull here but I'm quite happily ensconced in bed with a coffeeimage.  OH has taken the dog this morning as my foot is so painful atm.  Maybe I've overdone it in the garden the last few days but I blame it on walking round the SM.

Pat re the time difference it help to think that you Spring forward and Fall backimage.  Our clocks go back on 25th October so that will be another confusion for youimage.

Glad you've got your start date Panda. Exciting timesimage

    Have a good day everyoneimage

Verdun we've been paying for plastic bags for a long time and although it's not solved all the world's problems it has made a difference to the amount of bags going to landfill and flying along road vergesimage.
